Grab your datebooks, mark your calendars and set your DVRs; winter TV premiere season is officially upon us, and there are a whole slew of new and returning shows that you won’t want to miss. 2016 started off with a bang with PBS’s 90-minute Sherlock: The Abominable Bride special on January 1, but audiences quickly turned their attention to a different kind of gentleman caller when ABC introduced us to Ben Higgins on the 20^th season premiere of The Bachelor (Jan. 4). NBC served up three brand new star-studded shows last week, including feel-good comedy Superstore (feat. America Ferrera and Ben Feldman) and Latin soap opera parody Telenovela (feat. Eva Longoria), followed by Ray Liotta and Jennifer Lopez’s new crime drama series Shades of Blue. FOX brought back New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine on January 5, and fans embarked on their 15^th and final emotional rollercoaster with the premiere of American Idol on January 6.

And if you missed any of the above, not to worry; check your local network guide for reruns and catch the next episode this week.  Plus, there are a plethora of shows to choose from with new seasons set to air over the next few months;  highlights include the latest drama-filled series from Shonda Rhimes (The Catch, ABC), a reboot of 90’s hit series Full House featuring most of the original cast (Fuller House, Netflix), HBO’s highly anticipated rock-and-roll drama from Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter (Vinyl), and all new episodes of critically acclaimed fan favorites such as Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead (AMC), Girls (HBO), Empire (FOX), House of Cards (Netflix), and many more.
